Withdrawal of Flexi on OneCard
As part of the Leicester Bus Partnership we have been developing and extending the range of Flexi tickets available to passengers, which now includes child, student, adult and group variations. Tickets are available to buy on bus from the driver using either cash or contactless payment, as a m-ticket through bus company’s ticketing apps and day and contactless capping via tap on tap off.
The Flexi Week product has been available on OneCard since 2014 and usage has dramatically decreased since we have introuced more flexible and easier ways of purchasing the ticket. With mobile ticketing and contactless capping available, there is also no longer a need to expand the Flexi ticketing range through the OneCard scheme further.
We will therefore be withdrawing the Flexi on One Card over the next 3 months in a phased approach as follows:
1st July 2023 - new OneCards will no longer be available/issued
1st September 2023 - customers will no longer be able to top up their Flexi week tickets on bus or at the First bus Travel shop
1st October 2023 - Flexi OneCard tickets will be withdrawn and no longer accepted for travel
Customers who currently use the Flexi Week on OneCard are encouraged to switch to using either a mobile ticket (available on Arriva, Centrebus and First bus ticketing apps) or use tap on tap off contactless capping for their travel going forward.

Why is the Flexi Week on One Card being withdrawn?
Due to low usage (less than 1% of the market) and as there are more flexible and easier ways available to buy your ticket including contactless capping and mobile ticketing.
I currently use the One Card for my Flexi Week ticket, what is available to me now?
The following alternative options are available to you:
Buy as a m-ticket from Arriva, Centrebus and First Bus ticketing apps. You can pay by credit or debit card using this method and are able to purchase more than one ticket in one transaction. Your m-ticket will not start until you activate it on the mobile app.
Use your contactless card or mobile device to tap on and tap off buses and your fare will be capped at either the Flexi Day or Week ticket price depending on the number of days you travel/journeys you make. This is the most easiest and flexible option available.
You can buy on bus from the driver using cash or contactless payment and you will be issued with a paper ticket.
